about

This track is a nostalgic reflection of a saying my mother was fond of using every time I went out somewhere. While it has a sense of melancholy, it is not a sad song, rather, it's a very positive affirmation of how that line has stuck with me all my life. Its also the first track on which I've used a mandolin as it seemed to fit the feel of the song well.

lyrics

Every time that I left home
I'd hear her say that line
And every time that I'd return
Those words I felt were mine

She said
Mind how you go
There's much you need to know

She always had that way of hers
It told me of the care
And I could sense that deep inside
Behind her distant stare

She said
Mind how you go
There's much you need to know

But now those words are past echoes
I heard them one last time
As through a door to history
An everlasting sign

She said
Mind how you go
There's much you need to know
